Our Precision Equipment Calibration Lab

Accuracy matters. Whether you're in aerospace, manufacturing, or medical device production, small measurement errors can lead to large-scale issues. Continental Testing provides professional equipment calibration services that ensure your instruments stay within specification, meet regulatory demands, and perform with dependable precision. Our ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration lab serves clients nationwide with a commitment to quality, traceability, and fast turnaround.

When meters, gauges, and sensors drift out of specification, every reading that follows bends your decisions off target. Continental Testing safeguards against that silent creep with calibration services that put precision back where it belongs.

What Is Equipment Calibration?

Calibration is the act of comparing a device’s reading against a reference standard that is known to be accurate. Any difference between the two is the error. The goal is to verify that the instrument reads within its specified tolerance and behaves consistently over time. Technicians adjust the device (if adjustment is possible) so that its output once again matches the standard.

Continental Testing helps clients reduce costly errors by ensuring tools are accurate and ready for use. Calibration requirements can vary depending on the environment, industry, and the manner in which the tools are used. Continental Testing serves a wide range of sectors, tailoring services to meet specific standards and expectations

    Why Accuracy Slips

Heat cycles, mechanical shock, electrical noise, and plain old time chip away at accuracy. Even rugged tools from brands such as Fluke, Mitutoyo, or Keysight lose their precision after months of daily use on the factory floor or in the lab. When calibration is overdue or improperly done, equipment failure becomes more likely. Continental Testing helps clients reduce costly errors by ensuring tools are accurate and ready for use. Regulatory bodies like the FDA and the FAA know this well, which is why they require documented calibration at regular intervals.

    The Continental Testing Method

Our laboratory is ISO / IEC 17025 accredited and relies on National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceable references. That traceability forms an unbroken chain back to national standards. We record as-found data first (how the unit performed when it arrived). Our process includes proficiency checks, running control charts, and performing blind sample tests to catch trends before they threaten accuracy. After the adjustment, we collect as-left data, then issue a digital certificate for the equipment's calibration measurement status.

    ISO/IEC 17025 Accredited

    ANIAB Accredited logo

Continental Testing is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, the globally recognized standard for laboratory testing and calibration. That means our lab has been assessed for competence, measurement uncertainty, traceability, and repeatability. Every technician follows documented procedures. Clients across regulated industries rely on our certificates to demonstrate compliance. Accreditation gives you confidence that your calibration meets both technical and quality system requirements.

    NIST-Traceable Calibration

Each calibration we perform includes traceability to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or other nationally recognized standards organizations. That means your instruments are checked against references with a known, documented chain of accuracy. It’s not enough for tools to “seem right.” They need evidence-backed calibration with verified traceability. We provide that, every time.

Types Of Calibration Services We Offer

    Why Choose Continental Testing?

    Experienced Technicians

Our senior metrologists average fifteen years in the field. They can explain four-terminal resistance theory in the morning and chase down a thermocouple drift issue by lunch. When a question surfaces, you speak directly with the person who worked on your equipment.

    Modern Equipment

Our calibration facility is equipped with precision measurement systems, climate-controlled environments, and digital recordkeeping. Tools are calibrated using certified reference standards that are routinely verified. Instruments that don’t pass calibration are flagged immediately with recommendations for adjustment, repair, or replacement. Our lab processes are built to eliminate guesswork and reduce the risk of oversight.

    Fast Turnaround

We designed our workflow around lean manufacturing principles. Barcode tracking, parallel workstations, and automated certificate generation shave days off typical industry lead times. In many cases, we return tools before competitors finish intake inspection.

    Onsite and In-Lab Service

Shipping a delicate climate sensor halfway across the country can feel risky. That is why Continental Testing offers a mobile lab for on-site calibration. Our mobile technicians arrive, stabilize equipment, perform the work, and email certificates before leaving the parking lot. On-site calibration services cut out freight time and grants instant compliance.

For instruments that need an ultra-stable environment (think high-accuracy resistance standards) we recommend our in-lab services at our Ohio calibration lab or our Colorado calibration lab. Our facilities maintain strict environmental conditions that typical production floors cannot match. Our standard turnaround is quick, and expedited next-on-bench options exist for urgent requests.
